Cancer insurance pays a cash benefit if you develop cancer during the policy period. The cash benefit can be put toward medical or non-medical expenses. Multiple insurers market products for critical illnesses like cancer, heart attack, stroke, and more. Cancer and other specific disease policies provide only supplemental coverage.
